What is included in our maintenance program for your outdoor lights?
When you schedule a maintenance visit with Dallas Lightscapes, our team of lighting professionals will check over your entire system, top to bottom, even if we didn’t install it! From there, we will:
- Clean all fixtures and lenses
- Check fixtures and lights for damage
- Repair or replace all bulbs, fixtures, or sockets, as needed
- Bury any lines that have become exposed
- Check voltage on all lights to ensure safety
- Adjust the positioning of lights that have been affected by weather or animal activity
- Reset timers
- Remove excess overgrowth of dirt, foliage, limbs, leaves, etc. that might be obscuring lights

WHAT IS RETROFITTING?
Simply put, retrofitting is updating your current, traditional lighting system to more energy-efficient, longer-lasting LED lights. In many cases, Dallas Lightscapes is able to utilize your current lighting fixtures and just update the bulbs. If you’re ready for a new look, though, we’re happy to replace your fixtures with our high-quality brass fixtures that have the added benefit of being weather-resistant.
Many customers find that replacing old fixtures with newer, more efficient ones saves them money in the long run because their lighting system works better and lasts longer.

WILL YOU SERVICE MY SYSTEM EVEN IF IT’S NOT A DALLAS LIGHTSCAPES SYSTEM?
Yes! We are committed to providing you the best possible customer service, and that includes conducting a maintenance and repair visit even if we didn’t install the system originally. If you are interested, we are also happy to retrofit your old system to LED lights. Feel free to schedule a complimentary consultation with our lighting and design experts to look over your current system if you have any questions.
IF I HAVE MY CURRENT LIGHTING SYSTEM RETROFITTED FOR LED LIGHTS, DO I HAVE TO BUY ALL NEW FIXTURES?
In many cases, our team is able to retrofit existing fixtures and just switch out the bulbs for LEDs. However, we evaluate this capability on a case by case basis.
Certain factors will help determine whether you need to replace your old fixtures with new ones. For instance, integrated fixtures where the bulb and fixture are a single unit will need to be replaced completely. Interchangeable fixtures, on the other hand, can usually be retrofitted with new bulbs, especially if they were professionally installed. If you purchased the fixtures at a store like Lowe’s or Home Depot and installed the fixtures yourself, we may or may not need to replace the entire fixture.

WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT “MAINTENANCE,” DO YOU JUST MEAN REPLACING THE BULB?
Sometimes maintenance is as simple as replacing bulbs, fixtures, or sockets. However, our maintenance visits are much more comprehensive than that because electrical systems can require a range of servicing like checking and adjusting the voltage of the transformer and each individual light bulb and socket, repairing fixtures and connections, and burying exposed wires.
In fact, if your lighting system is older, it’s a good idea to completely rewire your system, especially if the wire has been in the ground for 10 years or more. Weather, erosion, animal activity, and wear and tear over time can all damage wiring eventually, which can result in sub-par performance of your lights at best and a fire hazard at worst. Sometimes, what you can’t see is the most important part of your electrical system, when it comes to the safety and efficiency of your landscape lighting.
WHAT COLOR TEMPERATURE OF LED LIGHTS DOES DALLAS LIGHTSCAPES USE?
One of the benefits of LED bulbs is that they can be any color temperature you want to suit your individual style, preference, and needs. We generally choose a warm white bulb (2700K color temperature) that is softer and more closely mimics natural light, but we are happy to install LEDs of any color temperature you choose.
That being said, your satisfaction is our highest priority, so we will gladly install your
lights wherever you want them, including on the second floor of your home or higher.

Yes! All of the bulbs we install have a 3-year warranty to make sure you get the long-lasting results you’re looking for, free of hassles.
