When you bury the wire, how deep do you go?
For optimal safety and discretion, we bury our wires 8-10 inches in the ground.
Is the burial process invasive? How much damage to my property can I expect?
Our precision digging process for burying wires is discreet and causes minimal disruption to your property. We push the wire into the ground and then stitch the ground back together so that you won’t even notice we’ve been there.
What is the average number of lights needed for an installation?
Because we work on such a wide range of property sizes and because each design is completely unique, there is no way to set a standard for the number of lights needed. We evaluate each home on a case by case basis, according to your needs and budget. Our pricing is per light, so our experts will work closely with you to accomplish your goals while staying within your budget.
Will you place lights on the second floor of my home?
In general, we recommend placing lights on the ground and angling them up, as opposed to having lights on the roof or upper floor and angling them down. Why? Lights placed on a second or third floor of your home will require a professional to change the bulb once they burn out. Also, the hot spot will be near the roof when you place a light higher up, which draws the eye unnaturally upward. With a ground placement, the hot spot will be much more comfortably at eye level, allowing you to focus on features of your home you want to highlight.
That being said, your satisfaction is our highest priority, so we will gladly install your lights wherever you want them, including on the second floor of your home or higher.
Do you recommend a length of time I should keep my lights on every night? Is it expensive to run the lights all night?
Once your visually stunning lighting system is in place, you’ll naturally want to use and enjoy it as much as possible, so we recommend keeping your lights on between dusk and dawn. Because we use low-voltage LED lights, the cost for power usage is only pennies per month. In addition, our bulbs carry a long-lasting warranty, so you don’t have to worry about overuse.
INSTALLATION
The skilled lighting experts at Dallas Lightscapes will install your new lighting system safely and efficiently. The first step is choosing a quality transformer. With their years of experience, our team is able to determine what transformer you need based on the number of lights you want and will begin the installation by wiring the transformer. Once it is wired, a skilled professional can then install the transformer on your home or property. Next, our team assembles our custom-made fixtures and installs industry-approved LED lights. Finally, we connect all the lights, cover and bury any exposed wires, and finish the installation process.
